Whilst emerging 4IR technologies present massive potential for innovation and industrialization, we have barely tapped into what these technologies have to offer. Higher Education Institutions have been given a pivotal role to play in unlocking that potential of 4IR for the benefit of societal development and poverty reduction.

Against this background of a crying call for the need to go beyond basic research to applied research with a focus on producing goods and services, this call for papers invites full papers and research in progress on empirical studies that aim to address the need to harness emerging technologies for innovation and industrialization in developing countries.
